CSF Elects New Chair

November, 2013 – Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Sheep Federation (CSF) is pleased to announce the election of Phil Kolodychuk as Chairman of the Board at the 2013 Annual General Meeting.

Phil Kolodychuk, along with his wife and children have raised lambs in Bluesky, Alberta for the past 12 years.  “I would like to thank the Board for their confidence in choosing me to help lead the organization through the coming year”, said Mr. Kolodychuk, adding “I would also like to thank the departing Board members Andrew Gordanier, Dennis Fischer and Josephine Martensson-Hemsted for their dedication to the Canadian sheep industry and for championing the CSF renewal process.  It was a time consuming but necessary exercise, and one that will ultimately benefit the industry”.  Phil went on to say that now is the time to focus CSF efforts on initiatives that will directly benefit producers like traceability, the Farm Safe Food Practices Program, scrapie eradication and access to medications, amongst others.

The CSF Executive Committee has a number of newly elected members this year including Rob Scott (ON) as Vice-Chair, Cathy Gallivan (NB) as Secretary and Barbara Johnstone Grimmer (BC) as Treasurer.  The rest of the CSF Board of Directors consists of Bill Gibson (AB), Herman Bouw (MB), Cathy Vallis (NS), Claude Gallant (PEI) and Wilson Reid (NL).
